There are direct flights from Athens to the airport of Kavala Megas Alexandros throughout the year and from many other European cities during the summer.

From the airport, you can take a taxi or rent a car to take you to the port of Keramoti which is about 15 minutes away. The ferry ride (which transports both cars and passengers) takes about 40 minutes. During the summer, it is a very enjoyable trip especially if you sit on the roof of the ferry boat and enjoy the sun and view.

There are also many other flights that connect into Thessaloniki which is about 165 km. from Kavala. From Thessaloniki, you can rent a car or take a bus. The drive from Thessaloniki to Kavala is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. When you arrive in Kavala, you can take the ferry boat to Skala Prinos (1 hour 20 minute trip) or use the hydrofoil to Limenas (about 45 minutes). Be careful though, you need to check the times as the hydrofoil does not operate as frequently as the regular ferry boats.

When you reach the town of Limenas (Thassos Town), you can reach Hotel Kamelia by renting a car, taking a taxi, or by using the local bus service which operates frequently during the summer season. From Limenas, it will take only 15 minutes to reach our hotel. It will be a great trip because the view from the road over Golden Beach is breathtaking.
